OVERVIEW
M.Sc. Clinical Microbiology: The program is designed to create expertise in laboratory diagnosis of human diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites as well as antimicrobial susceptibility testing, molecular diagnostic techniques for infectious diseases, public health, laboratory quality, safety, management and regulation.
Below mentioned are the Programme Outcomes:
• Sample Processing: Ability to perform routine clinical laboratory tests in clinical biochemistry, haematology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, body fluid analysis, and laboratory operations
• Diagnosis: Interpret laboratory test data for clinical significance
• Quality Assurance: Calibrate the instruments and diagnostic analyzers by application of quality control testing.
• Evidence Based Practice: Study and evaluate scientific literature, critically evaluate scientific papers and write a scientific report.
• Ethics: Demonstrate ethical standards of the laboratory profession in relation to medical information and patient care
• Programme Specific Outcomes
• Recognize pre-analytical, post-analytical, and analytical variables and corrective measures.
• Develop quantitative skills and the ability to use research tools in an area of clinical microbiology

Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria of M.Sc. Clinical Microbiology are that students have to complete undergraduate course in respective field from a recognized institute.
Future Prospect of the Course: Upon completing the MSc Clinical Microbiology course, one can find a plethora of job opportunities in both government and private sectors in some of the following roles:
• Lecturer/Professor.
• Clinical Microbiologist.
• Biomedical Research Assistant.
• Environmental Microbiologist.
