OVERVIEW
Tourism and hospitality are increasingly significant to the national and regional economies, with a predicted 10% contribution to GDP by 2030. It is also predicted to contribute about 10% of overall employment by this time. Most provincial governments prioritize tourism because of its ability to produce jobs locally, affecting an equal distribution of money created. The country faces a significant issue in producing employable kids who can closely match the industry’s requirements and the employer. As a result, the university’s MBA in Tourism and Hospitality program is planned to emphasize Activity Based Learning (ABL). As a result, the curriculum will include a significant amount of practical experience to bridge the gap between what the business expects and what is taught in the program. The program will allow students to work as closely as possible with business while also returning to the classroom (learning spaces) to reflect on their experiences.
Intake Capacity: 30
Eligibility Criteria: Graduate from any discipline with at least 45% marks.
Duration: 2 Year (4 Semesters)
Future prospect of the course:
The program recognizes that postgraduates will be working as executives and managerial cadre in the tourism and related industries and should be prepared to take on supervisory duties within three to four years. They may also elect to fundraise their own initiatives. The program’s prized value will be entrepreneurship. It is also accepted that graduates from many fields of study would enter this program with little or no prior experience in tourism. As a result, the following will be included in the program:
- Courses on the fundamentals of tourism and its operations
- Courses that will assist in the management of a tourist organization
- Courses that will serve as a basis for the second option listed above.
- Courses to teach critical personal and professional skills for this industry.
- Business management abilities.
