OVERVIEW
English Hons programme develops skills of communication, negotiation, team work, effective presentation, etc. which helps in self-development and personal growth. The students will be familiar with the conventions of diverse textual genres including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, autobiography, biography, Journal, films, plays, editorials etc. It will provide the ability to express thoughts and ideas effectively in writing and orally; communicate with others using appropriate media; confidently share one’s views and express himself/herself; demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, read and write analytically, and present complex information in a clear and concise manner to different groups.

Eligibility Criteria:
Aspirants should have passed 10+2 from any recognised board with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case for SC/ST candidates).
Duration: 3 Years (6 Semesters)
Future prospect of the course:
Students develop the capacity to extrapolate from what one has learned and apply their competencies to solve different kinds of non-familiar problems, rather than replicate curriculum content knowledge; and apply one’s learning to real life situations. The objective of the course is to introduce sociological concepts and theories to students and help them link these to actual life experiences. The students develop the Critical sensibility to lived experiences, with self-awareness and reflexivity of both self and society.
