This is the field of engineering which is very competitive and is growing in demand day after day. Due to the constant demand for high-end vehicles, automobile engineers can see themselves in huge demand both in India and Abroad. It is that branch of engineering that deals with designing the vehicle, manufacture new products or innovative products for a vehicle, repairing and servicing of vehicles. The future automobile engineers can also specialize in aerodynamics, the chassis, fuels, the emissions, the electronics, the manufacture of materials, the creation of prototypes, etc.

On completion of the course, an automobile engineer can find themselves employed in large automobile units, manufacturing and servicing stations. Also, graduates of this course can seek employment in major automobile companies in the world. In addition, students can also be self-employed by setting up their own garages, workshops. The diploma in automobile engineering is a three-year program approved by UGC and the Government of Punjab.
